Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26th August, 2026
This policy explains what happens to your information when you join the waitlist. It covers this website only. When Tura launches as a product, a separate policy will apply to the platform itself, and you will be told before that happens.
1. Who is responsible for your information
Tura is currently operated by Debargha Roy, an individual, trading as Tura. Tura is not yet an incorporated company. Under data protection law an individual can be a data controller, and for now that controller is Debargha.
Contact for anything in this policy: debargharoy17@gmail.com
I intend to incorporate a company to operate Tura. When that happens, the information described in this policy will transfer to that company, which will become the controller in my place. See section 10.
2. What we collect
When you join the waitlist, you give us:
- your name
- your email address
Automatically, when the form is submitted, our form provider records:
- the date and time of submission
- your IP address
- basic technical information about your browser and device
When you watch the demo video, the video is served by YouTube, which is operated by Google. Google may set cookies and receive your IP address and information about your device. This happens on Google's own terms, not ours. See section 8.
That is the complete list. We do not collect your date of birth, your academic history, your grades, your test scores, your nationality, your immigration status, your financial information, or anything else. We do not buy information about you from anyone, and we do not build a profile of you.
3. Why we collect it, and on what basis
We use your name and email address for one purpose: to contact you about Tura's launch and early access. That is it. We do not use it for anything else.
The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the waitlist form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us at the.tura.club@gmail.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
The technical information in section 2 is retained by our form provider for security and abuse prevention, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the form from being abused.
4. Who your information is shared with
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers, agents, consultants, universities, or anyone else for their own purposes.
We do use service providers who process it on our instructions:
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| MongoDB Atlas | Receives and stores waitlist submissions | Germany (Frankfurt) |
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
5. Where your information goes
Tura's audience is international, and our providers are based in several countries. Your information may therefore be transferred outside the country you live in, including outside the UK, the EEA, Singapore and India.
Where information is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable, or on the recipient country having an adequacy decision.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details until the earlier of:
- twelve months after Tura launches, or
- you ask us to delete them.
If we decide not to launch Tura, we will delete the waitlist within 30 days and tell you we have done so.
7. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you
- give you a copy of it
- correct anything inaccurate
- delete it
- stop using it for waitlist emails
Email the.tura.club@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:
- UK and EEA (UK GDPR / GDPR): the rights above, plus restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability. You can complain to your national supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
- Singapore (PDPA): rights of access and correction, and the right to withdraw consent. You can complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission at pdpc.gov.sg.
- India (DPDP Act 2023): rights of access, correction, erasure and grievance redressal, and the right to nominate another person to exercise your rights. You can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, contact us first at the.tura.club@gmail.com. We would rather fix it than have you go to a regulator, but you are entitled to go to one either way.
8. Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising or tracking pixels.
The embedded demo video is served by YouTube. If you play it, or in some browsers merely by loading the page, Google may set cookies on your device. We have configured the embed to use YouTube's no-cookie mode where possible, but we do not control what Google does. Google's practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.
9. Age
Tura is intended for people aged 18 or over. Please do not join the waitlist if you are under 18.
If you believe someone under 18 has given us their details, email the.tura.club@gmail.com and we will delete them.
10. If Tura becomes a company
Tura is currently operated by an individual. If Tura is incorporated as a company, or if the business is sold, merged, or transferred to another party, the waitlist and everything described in this policy will transfer to that company or party, which will take over as controller.
We will email you before or at the time of that transfer. The new controller will be bound by this policy until it publishes its own, and you can ask to be deleted at any point before or after the transfer.
11. Security
Waitlist details are held with the providers named in section 4 and are accessible only to me. They are transmitted over an encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but the information we hold about you is deliberately minimal so that there is very little to lose.
If there is a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant regulator where the law requires it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will email everyone on the waitlist. Other changes will be posted here with an updated date at the top.
